You all know how much I love The Vampire Diaries and have seen my reviews for Think Hero, but when I got the chance to interview the cast one-on-one… woot! My goal here was to just have fun and showcase the actors’ personalities. Especially Paul, who is so hilarious and easy to banter with! Why ask the same exact questions as everyone else?
The Time Traveler project is a photo shoot saluting the work of Kristen Nedopak: Actress, Host, Producer and Geek. A one-woman show, Kristen is a trendsetter and innovator in her field who has proven that one can trailblaze, create buzz and secure the status of an “it” girl through creative, non-traditional means, all while inspiring the masses.
The theme of this shoot is “tech fashion,” and it will entail the creation of one-of-a-kind couture that screams creative, fierce and fun, and above all else, pushes the limits of fashion.
Here’s the pilot for my new hosted show called Fight Class where, each episode, I’ll learn a fight sequence from a popular geek-genre film or television series, taught by Swordmasters Jan Bryant and Dan Speaker from the Academy of Theatrical Combat in LA. Most of the time we’ll be using swords (oooh, the broadsword is my favorite!), but we’ll venture into other weapons later on.
Alex the “Pumpkin Geek” recently sent me one of the coolest things ever… my face carved into a pumpkin! If that wasn’t an honor in itself, I now grace the pages of his website alongside celebrities such as Gene Simmons and LeVar Burton who also had their famous mugs cast in orange… errr. I’m not sure what these pumpkins are actually made of, but they aren’t real. I.e. I can keep this forever!
Watch my interview with Starz’s Spartacus creator/executive producer Steven DeKnight as he talks about Spartacus season 2, the unfortunate circumstances of replacing the Andy Whitfield as lead actor, Gods Of The Arena, and working with Joss Whedon on Buffy and Angel. Continue Reading
Team Think Hero had the opportunity to interview one of the greatest fantasy authors known to the geek community, George R. R. Martin. The man responsible for the story behind HBO’s Game of Thrones series is such a sweetheart. If you get the chance to read Martin’s entire epic series A Song of Ice and Fire (GoT is book 1), do so. It’s brilliant.
I have to say that the single most gratifying part of being an actress and on-camera personality is knowing that I am inspiring people. That’s been my life goal since I was a little kid, when I thought I’d be a stand-up comedian and spend my life making people laugh (until I realized how hard it was to do stand-up that is!). Comedy is, after all, the perfect remedy for just about any problem, right? I still do love to make people laugh, smile and feel comfortable and confident to just be themselves. I think being on camera shows people that you can get out there and do what you love!
Eco-Chick featured my geeky style and love for handmade eco-friendly costumes and clothing in the article How I Wear Eco Fashion: Kristen Nedopak, Hollywood Actress and Geek Host.
#488 is a new lucky number, as it’s my official stamp on Haren Yong‘s Hottest Actresses on the Planet list. Haren recently wrote a very cool, and extremely well-researched (including details regarding my Damon Salvatore obsession) article about me on his blog Gorno.
Winteriscoming.net, a site dedicated to all that is Game of Thrones (HBO’s upcoming fantasy epic) just pimped myself and Think Hero for our coverage of the show in video format. We are currently the only site I know of that will be reviewing episodes each week come April via videocasts. Continue Reading
Ok, so that title may be a little misleading, but it got your attention, right? I meant that I am lucky enough to have been included on a short list of PR peeps (that look to all be geek-genre journalists) invited to participate in HBO’s incredibly fun new marketing campaign for Game of Thrones.
Woot! I just met with Dennis, CEO of a very popular geek blog/YouTube channel called Think Hero, where I’ll be working as their newest host and TV reviewer. I’m so excited to have an outlet to talk about my favorite TV shows, including The Vampire Diaries and Starz’s Spartacus. In the spring I’ll be covering Game of Thrones!
A geek’s dream come true! I began producing and hosting my own vlog called Outta This World: The Art of Sci-fi & Fantasy back in May. What started out as a pet project fueled by my passion and love of books, designing elaborate costumes, creating art and all sorts of other nerdy stuff, has tuned into a nation-wide phenomenon with quite the fan following.
